PZ Was Right! Signs of the End Times.

If any of you heathens still doubt the forecast of the great PZ Myers and his Theory of Impending Cephalopod Domination, question no further.  The conquest has begun.  As with most major operations of this sort the first soldiers sent in are the scouts, those responsible for laying the ground work for the conquest.  Allow your fear to rise as you behold the first of them.

My God! My God. It's full of... Carrots?

Not only is he coming to kick some ass, fortunately, he also supports our agenda.

We found this little majestic overlord in the bundle of carrots we bought from local farmers, and yes, there are eight “legs” there.   He’s so damn cute.  Hmm?  Maybe he’s a she.

Anyone know how to tell.  I’m just not sure which leg to lift.

I’m afraid my cephalopodian gender discernment skills are … um … non existent so I can’t help you there.

But I for one welcome our new cute overlord / lady :)

  1. Well, if it’s bigger than the other 8-legged ones, it’s a She… at least, that’s how it works in spiders:))

Second the welcome for the cute new Over(lady?)!

I hadn’t seen that ad from the Humanist Organisation–excellent! I hope there are many more just like it.

  2. Hey, KK! How are rehearsals going? We’ll be expecting to see at least a *little* clip of the performance:)) Pleeeeease!

Oh yeah–did you find time for a drive-by of the church that has the last cross trellis you made?

    • Rehearsals are going busily. I started out two weeks behind everyone else and with about a quarter of the experience the rest of them have on stage. That combined with teaching our apprentices for 11 hours a day gives me a realistic of drowning. I get up at 5:30 and get home about 5:45. I then get to eat and practice lines before leaving for practice at 6:45. We usually get home around 9:15 but a few times closer to 9:45. I then have a glass of wine with my lover and collapse into a deep sleep.

In addition there is all the concentrating. I spend the mornings learning about nuclear theory and dangers of radiation poisoning or the general concept behind welding theory or one of dozens of others and then spend the afternoon teaching what I just brushed up on. I take breaks here by reading my lines for the play. Then I go to practice where I am trying to figure out where I’m supposed to be, what I have to do next, the gestures and expression that I must put forward, at the same time trying to remember what the hell I supposed to say all the while trying to stay in the proper one of the four accents I’m using.

I’m a man. I don’t multitask well. Quite frankly I’m surprised I don’t fall of the stage or go into seizures. What a world. With all the concentrating and study I do all day I feel mentally exhausted. I always used to flatter myself that I kept my mind in shape, but now that I going through some kind of mental boot camp, I am sadly cognizant of my intellectual flab. I haven’t had anytime to even keep up on my site let alone any others. Sigh

But overall I am having a blast. This is a great thing I’m doing. I’ll see if we can hit that church this weekend. No guarantees.

PS. In addition our first freethinkers meeting went very well. So now I’m the president, pro tempore, of the Missouri River Free Thinkers. We are beginning to set up a structure and a web site. Wish me luck

Me ‘at’s orf t’ ya guv! Seriously, though you can’t keep that pace up forever, mate, and you seem determined to add more! I shall instruct Amy to say strict motherly-type things.

Congrats on the new Free Thinkers club. Anything that can be done via the web to help, feel free to ask.

Clearly this foodstuff-god is a lesser-member of the Pastafari Pantheon. A Veggie-Titan, if you will.

  3. That’s right–be sure to get enough sleep, so’s not to catch cold. And from my Great Aunt D–you be careful goin’ home, hear? There’s jus’ so durn much meanness out there!

(I have to say here, though, that I think it’s sounds like six kinds of cool to have to learn Nuclear Physics for work… ;-) )
